WORD!

It's another challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.

PKC Challenge 40 :: Just Cards :: Word Up

Here's what ya gotta do to play along with their challenge:
Create a card where the focus of the creation is the sentiment. You can accomplish this with clean and simple designs or let your creativity go wild with patterns and color as long as the sentiment shines through as the main focus.

So... here is the card that I made for PKC 40:

I made an easel card (love making these) and used some pattern paper that I had in my stash.

The sentiment comes from Stampendous and is  embossed with Martha Stewart Cerulean Blue embossing powder.

The snowflakes are from a EK Success Snowflake Edger Punch and I attached them using Glossy Accents.

The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design's My Favorite Kind stamp set.

Thanks for stopping! Make sure to head on over to The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see all the great entries and then again on Friday for the new challenge.

Birthday Slider Box

Just over a week ago it was the Pink By Design July Stamp Release but I was at work and had to miss it :(

Darn work, always getting in the way ...lol.

Well that night they made a Slider Box, perfect for many things. It's fun, quick and easy to make and the only limit is your imagination when it comes to decorating the box.

So here is my version of the box.... a Birthday Slider Box.

I used 110# Cardstock that I purchased at Staples for the slider box to make sure the box was nice and sturdy. Then added some Recollections cardstock and DCWV Birthday pattern paper.

I used my Martha Stewart Balloon punch, attached 3 together and stamped my sentiment right on the balloons. The sentiment is from Pink by Design's April Stamp of the Month - My Favorite Kind.

I used some Divine Twine in Aqua for the balloon string.

I
Now slide it open and SURPRISE!!

I added some tissue paper and some candy fish  for some sweet birthday wishes!!!

Yummm. I may have had to try a few for quality control purposes only...lol.

The inside sentiment is from Pink by Design's Say it Sweet.

What a great little box that you can use for any occasion, just create, decorate and fill with whatever your heart desires.

I will be linking this to Link Up Tuesday over at Sarah Hamer's Blog.

Just a couple little notes of Thanks!!

Little notes of Thanks to a couple of friend's of mine and some chocolate too :D

Today I wanted to show you the 3x3 thank you cards that I made.

I used some paper and ribbon from my stash with my corner punch. The sentiment comes from Pink By Design's Jan Stamp of the Month set entitled Small Things.

The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design's Oct 2011 Stamp of the Month: Friends to the End.

The bird stamp is by Inkadinkado called True Friends.
I just love how the birds turned out, I embossed them in black on the yellow paper and then cut them out. Then just attached to the front of the envelope with a AdTech dot runner. (love it)

I wrapped a Purdy's Dark Chocolate Bar in some metallic red foil paper ...yummmmm

The second card is also made with paper and ribbon from my stash.

Both the inside and outside sentiments are also from Pink By Design's Oct Stamp of the Month: Friends to the End.

I embossed a Sea Star for the envelope in black embossing powder on green paper and used my circle punch to cut it out.

The Sea Star is from the On the Beach Mini set by Inkadinkado.

I love making 3x3 cards they are quick and simple to make.

Birthday Wishes

Today I want to share with you a card I made for my Father for his upcoming birthday.

When I was younger, my father and I used to go fishing. I always loved getting my hands in the minnow bucket, I would open it up and stare at all the little minnows swimming around. I have lots of great memories of fishing.

I used grey Recollections Cardstock for the base, added a layer of lime green paper, topped with a blue layer. The blue piece of cardstock is from Momenta Great Outdoors Paper pad and is embossed with fish.

The Sentiment comes from the Pink By Design Simply Everything Stamp set.

The main image of this card is the Wide Mouth Bass by Inkadinkado. I colored the fish in with my Copics and went over the fins with a Sakura Stardust Clear Gelly Roll pen.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Weathered Wood for the water and to ink around the edges. Then used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large to cut out the image and green layer.

The inside sentiment comes from the Pink By Design  Spring Has Sprung Stamp set.

The little fish is also from the PBD Simply Everything Stamp set.... isn't he cute.

So here's Fishing my Father a Happy Birthday.

Hoppy Easter

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter and show you a card I made recently.

I used orange, green and brown Bazzill Cardstock for the base and the layers of this card. I stamped the Bunny in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on White Recollections Cardstock and used my Copics to color it, then cut it out using my Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large

I just love this cute little set of stamps from Hot off the Press called Hoppy Easter. I used the mini carrot stamp and made my own background paper. First I stamped the carrot in some Memento Bamboo Leaves Ink and then colored them in with one of my Copics. I just love how it turned out, I will have to try this with some of my other small stamps.

For the Carrot I used the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge cut out at 3", along with the shadow layer. The carrot is my favorite piece of the card.... I just love it. The sentiment comes from Pink By Design's Hoppy Easter stamp set..... isn't just perfect. I gave the carrot some dimension by adding some popdots.

For the inside of the card I stamped some more carrots and rounded the corners with my corner punch. The sentiment also comes from Pink By Design's Hoppy Easter stamp set.

Wishing you a Hoppy Day
Hope everyone has a great Easter with Family and Friends.

Wedding

In two different previous posts I showed you the Wedding Invitations and Favors that I did for a friend.

Wedding Invitation
Wedding Favors

Well her big day has finally come and gone and two have become one. What a beautiful Bride my friend made, a day she won't soon forget.

To wish them well on their new journey together I made them a Chapel card.

I used the Tie the Knot Cricut cartridge and my Cricut Expression to make this card.

I welded two Chapel Shadow layers together in the Cricut Craft Room to make the brown base of the card. I cut the other layers out using the same pink and brown paper that I used to make the invitations.

The tulips are cut out using my Martha Stewart Tulip edger punch and then colored with Copics.

I found the bell embellishment in my Christmas stash and attached it with a mini brad so it can move back and forth.

The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Wedding stamp set. I used the hearts cut from the front of the chapel and added some popdots for dimension.

The ribbon is from Recollections, its hard to tell but it says:  ...and they lived happily ever after....

Since this card is 7 inches tall I had to make an envelope for it. I used my Martha Stewart Score Board and this beautiful paper Wedding Words from  Recollections.

Here are few pictures of the favors and of the cake.

The tables looked so good... I love the Center pieces and of course the favor boxes :)

 ... love the cupcake holders

Cake anyone??

What a Yummy treat for all Kahlua Caupcakes with Raspberry Icing.......they were soooo good.

Wishing my friend and her new hubby all the best on their new journey of Love.

3 Cheers for Green Beers!!!!

Only 2 more days til St Patrick's Day.

Here is another card that I made for this festive green beer drinking day. I must say that I have never drank green beer but I guess there is always a first time for everything.

I used the Grommet Tags from Spellbinders in my Cuttlebug to cut out and stamp the sentiment on.

The sentiment is from Pink by Design's Luck O' the Irish stamp set. This set is full of lots of great sayings.

I then ran some green ribbon through the holes to attach it to the card.

The image stamp is one that I got for .....50 cents at a local Department store. I colored it in with my Bic markers and added some popdots.

The inside sentiment is also from Pink by Design's Luck O' the Irish stamp set.

I punched a couple of Shamrocks with my Fiskars Pop-up Punch and added some popdots.

3 Cheers for Green Beers!

At Rainbow's end

Thought I'd make a St Patrick's Day card since it is this Saturday.

I pulled out my Pink By Design binder and found the Luck O' the Irish stamp set. Perfect!

I stamped and cut out a house from a Christmas stamp set I have then colored it with some Copics.  I used my Cuttlebug with the Traffic Jam folder and the rainbow is an embellishment from Michaels.

The inside sentiment is also from the Luck O' the Irish stamp set. I really love the sayings on this stamp set.

" 'Tis better by far at rainbow's end
to find not gold but a true friend."

I added a couple of Shamrocks cut from my Fiskars Pop-up punch set and used some popdots to add dimension.

Happy crafting!

Stamp and Punch Storage

Sorry  that I haven't posted lately, I've been working like crazy and now I have a nasty ear infection. Fun fun.

So here as promised is a look at my stamp and punch storage.

Here is my favorite way of storing my stamp sets and Spellbinders Dies. Avery 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet protectors and binders from Staples. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I have about 15 of them, all broken into different categories.

Here is one of my Pink by Design Sentiment Stamp Binders. I belong to the PBD Stamp of the Month Club...(love it) so I have a couple of binders full of sentiments.

I just added a piece of Velcro to each top to keep them closed. It's so easy to just flip through each one and pick the one that I want.

For my single stamps I found this Crop in Style Binder at one of the local Thrift shops for $2....what a steal !!!
It even had all the original inserts in it.

I just added some extra Hockey card holders into it and slid in my single stamps. These are my Stamping Bella Stamps they fit perfectly into the pockets.

I keep all my wood mounted stamps (or at least the one's that I haven't unmounted) in a 12 x 12 Iris Scrapbook Case that I got at Michaels.

I also use them for all of my paper punches, these are some of my Martha Stewart Halloween punches. I love how they fit and I can clearly see the one that I want to use.

Here are my cases of stamps and punches, I have them in several colors and broken into categories.

More Sympathy Cards

Here are a couple of Sympathy cards that I made just recently for a friend. It's never easy losing someone but it is a part of life and doing the job I do it happens far too often.

That's why it is so important that you tell the people you love ... how much they mean to you. With that said for those near and dear to me and those afar I love and miss you all.

And here are some that were made digitally

Happy New Year! 2012

Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Year with family and friends.

I can't believe that it's 2012... time just goes by so fast these days. I've been working lots but thought that I'd post a few pictures.

So here's to a new year and a new start.
