24 Carrot Friend

Last year I picked up these cute carrot boxs from Michaels in the clearance section and knew they would come in handy at some point. So I thought that I would make something with them for the Easter weekend.

I filled each carrot with yummy Jelly Beans, made a cute little carrot tag and gave them out at work.
I love all the holidays and like to make little things to put smiles on my friends faces.

I used the Create A Critter cartridge to cut the carrots and their shadows at 2 3/4". Then used the Pink By Design Hoppy Easter stamp set for the sentiment and embossed them in Stampendous Black.

I attached the carrot tag to the large carrot with some Divine Twine in green looped through a hole I made with my Crop A Dile.

Fast and easy, fun and yummy!

Next year I want to have a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt! I saw them on Pinterest and just know they would be so much fun.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Since March is craft month and St Patrick's Day and I'm Irish I decided to make some cute little treat holders for my co-workers.

I made another version of these boxes for Valentine's (here) as they can be made for any occasion with any theme. I originally found the tutorial  on Split Coast Stampers Flat Backed Treat Box, great source for all kinds of crafty goodness.

I love making these cute little boxes and filling them with a few yummy treats or treasures.... how fun! I made 2 versions of this treat box for St Patrick's Day.

Here is the first one:

I started with the October 31 Cricut cartridge and cut out the cauldrons but cut off the feet and stir stick at the top, then added another piece of black cardstock to the back.  I filled in the center of the pot with some gold Stickles then some gold rhinestones and let them dry.

I cut the rainbow from the Cricut Create A Critter cartridge then added the pot of gold with some popdots to give a little dimension.

I had some leftover Shamrocks from when I made the Kiss Me banner cut from the Cricut Spring Holiday Cards cartridge. So I added some adorable little faces on then from the Peachy Keen Hot Cocoa stamp set and added them to the front of the box.

Both sentiments are from the Pink By Design Luck O' The Irish stamp set and embossed in Stampendous Black Embossing Powder.

Yummy Chocolate covered Mints and Sour Green Apples await inside!
Here is the second box:

For this box I used some Shamrock paper from Recollections and added a thin black mat behind it. My Cuttlebug and a Spellbinders Labels Nine Die made the cut to use for the sentiment.

Both sentiments are also from the Pink By Design Luck O' The Irish stamp set and embossed in Stampendous Black Embossing Powder. I added a few popdots to the back and placed it in the center.

More yummy goodness inside!
I hope everyone had a great St Patrick's Day and didn't drink too many green beers!

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY from me to you!

Look the pot of gold...it glitters!
I will be adding this over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog Challenge 13-11 Anything Goes.

Sending A Trunk Full Of Hearts.

This week I made a card with a sentiment that I've been wanting to use for a long time, so with Valentine's Day just around the corner it worked out perfectly.

I'm going to enter this weeks Have A Heart challenge over at the Pink By Design blog. They want to see projects using hearts, stamped, embossed, cut out which ever way you like it as long as it includes a heart.

I started with the Cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge and cut out just the head of the Elephant then added some googly eyes for fun. I mounted him on some heart patterned paper from the Ever After Collection from Pebbles.

I used the Pink By Design Jungle Fever stamp set for the sentiment, embossing it in Stampendous Silver embossing powder.

The mini hearts come from the largest Spellbinders Heart Circles die from a previous card that I made a while back... I knew I kept them for a reason.

The medium sized hearts are cut from a Fiskars punch, which I then embossed with silver mini word stamps from the Pink Cat Studio Lily and Billy Sweethearts stamp set.

I love how the card turned out!

Find all those heart stamps, stickers and die cuts and get busy, then enter the challenge yourself.

I will also be entering this into the challenge over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog 13-4 Just Cards: Heart of Hearts. Make sure to head on over and take a peek at all the great inspiration from the Design Team.

WORD!

It's another challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.

PKC Challenge 40 :: Just Cards :: Word Up

Here's what ya gotta do to play along with their challenge:
Create a card where the focus of the creation is the sentiment. You can accomplish this with clean and simple designs or let your creativity go wild with patterns and color as long as the sentiment shines through as the main focus.

So... here is the card that I made for PKC 40:

I made an easel card (love making these) and used some pattern paper that I had in my stash.

The sentiment comes from Stampendous and is  embossed with Martha Stewart Cerulean Blue embossing powder.

The snowflakes are from a EK Success Snowflake Edger Punch and I attached them using Glossy Accents.

The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design's My Favorite Kind stamp set.

Thanks for stopping! Make sure to head on over to The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see all the great entries and then again on Friday for the new challenge.

Having a Ball!!!

Hi everyone. Well I have finally gotten around to making a post. I was away camping enjoying what little summer we have had.

I love the outdoors and like to spend as much time as possible out there when I can.

The card that I made this time is one of my favorite places to be in the summer...the Beach. I used the Cricut Paper Dolls Teen Scene cartridge.

I cut the dolls, bathing suits and hair all at 5". Since I can not draw at all I used the Peachy Keen Dolly Dumplins Face Asst. stamp set for her and the Peachy Keen Groom Faces for him.

I cut some waves from Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge and took some Sookwang tape and some decorative sand that I had lying around to make the beach. The beach ball is from the Pink by Design Just Beachy stamp set, stamped, colored with Copics and cut out.

The  sentiment is from the Simply Everything stamp set by Pink by Design.

I added some American Crafts ribbon, a Recollections flip flop brad and some real baby shells that I got at a second hand store to finish the card.

For the inside of the card I used one of the left over waves, stamped the sun from Stampendous Summer Scene stamp set with Memento Dandelion Ink and then cut it out.

The inside sentiment is from the Pink by Design Summer Vacation stamp set.

Well I hope you all get to have a ball and spend many fun days at the beach.

I'm entering this card into the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #28 - Anything Goes.

You should head on over there and check out what everyone has been up to.

Happy Father's Day !!!!

Hi there today I wanted to share the card that I made for my Dad for Father's Day.

He lives in Ontario and we don't get to see each other very often, but we do keep in touch. I miss him and wish he could be closer. Happy Father's Day Dad ... I love you. Hope you have a great day.

I used  both sides of Reel Me In Dad paper from TPC Studio and some Bazzill cardstock for the base. I love the way that Embossed sentiments look, so I did this one in Stampendous Emerald embossing powder. The sentiment is Best Dad from Stampendous.

I just love these ties, I added dimension with some popdots. I recently won the Memory Box Family Ties Die from entering a card in the Pink Cricut Link Up Tuesday and I'm going to enter this card in the 2nd Ink It Pink Challenge - PbD02 . This week's Ink it Pink Challenge is a Masculine card or project, so I think that this fits right in.

I used the other part of the Family Ties Die for the inside and the sentiment comes from Studio G.. I think.

To all the great fathers out there...

Happy Father's Day !

A Peek at some of my Craft Storage

Here is a little peek into my craft storage.

For a while I took over all the space downstairs in the kitchen, on the  dining table, anywhere there was a surface, to do my crafting. Then one day I decided I was taking over half my bedroom and setting up a craft area.

I went to Nanaimo ReStore (this store helps generate funds to support Habitat for Humanity's building program) and started looking. I picked up 2- 1 1/2' x 8' long tables and a folding table for $38.... what a great deal. If you live in the area, you should check it out.

So I set up the tables and started putting up all my storage. Everything has a place and is categorized.

I got this Space Saver Over the toilet Storage Shelf at Walmart for $20, it was the display model. It worked out perfectly!!!

The bottom part was turned into my Ribbon rack. Some lids from empty embossing powders, some screws and pieces of dowel to make it. Of course, I have it separated by color, and when I need more room I can just turn it around and add more.

The top part I turned into my embellishment centre. At the top I took pieces of Velcro and stuck them to the bottom side of my Stickles bottles and hung them from the top. I also hung my Glossy Accents the same way. Under the Stickles are my Martha Stewart Microbeads.

As you can see in the picture above, for the second shelf I took pieces of a cereal box and made shelves to fit across. Then added my Martha Stewart and Stampendous Flocking Powders and my Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments.

The third shelf I took some Styrofoam I had lying around and made some tiers. I placed all my Glitter Ritz and various other glitters on this shelf.

The bottom shelf holds my Google eyes, Buttons and Brads and other various items.

I bought 6 and 8 compartment dividing containers and found some candle holders that I paid 50 cents for at JYSK. I took the top off the candle holder and slid them on, now I can just turn them and see what's in each.

Beside that is my Cricut Expression and all my Cartridges. I paid $10 for the shelf at a local Thrift shop. It was meant to be, they fit perfectly too!!!

I took an old computer desk on wheels and now it is my cut centre. I can move it to wherever I want it to be. On top, I have my paper trimmer, my Martha Stewart Self Healing Mat and an old mouse pad that I use for stamping. The pull out part holds my Martha Stewart paper trimmer, score board and another mini paper trimmer.

Underneath, in the cubby of the desk are my binders of embellishments and precut Cricut Paperdoll parts.

I took Hockey card holders and stuck all my embellishments (most of which are all from Michaels) and found a zip up binder to store them in.

I will give you a another look soon at some more of my craft storage solutions.

Til then happy crafting!!!
