Birthday Wishes!!

Here's a quick card that I made for a friends birthday recently.

I used the Jaded Blossom November freebie Bake Me Happy Stamp set for the mixer and my paper. As you can see I got a little carried away stamping the mini mixer for my paper..lol... I was having too much fun.

The sentiments are from the Jaded Blossom Baked With Love set.

Let's Wine About It!!

Hi everyone! Well after working 2 jobs for the summer it's finally time to get back to crafting. So what better way to start than by making a birthday card.

A friend of mine recently celebrated her birthday and I had made a visit to my favorite Scrapbooking stores Crafty Capers in Nanaimo a few weeks earlier. I bought this Art Impressions stamp and a few other things that I really needed... lol.

I started by stamping her with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cutting out the image with my Spellbinders label 9 die. Then colored her in with various Copics and added some Glossy Accents to the glass.

I made the background from one of the stamps in the Jaded Blossom Happy Hour Candies stamp set, then added some ribbon and a few popdots to my lady.

The inside sentiment comes from  the Jaded Blossom's Olive You stamp set.

Love how two of my favorite companies came together to make this card. Make sure to check out both of their websites and blogs.

MEOW

Just wanted to share a quick card that I made for a friend's birthday over the weekend. She loves cats so these chipboard cats from Basic Grey worked purrrfectly.

I made my patterned paper using the Peachy Keen Cat Background stamp embossed in silver.

For the inside I used a small strip of matching paper and  my sentiment is from Pink By Design.

Hope everyone has a cat-tastic week!

My Digital Birthday Card

So I went from not posting for over a month to two posts in one day.. haha. Time to get back to crafting.

I just wanted to share the card that my other half made for me for my birthday. It's so darn cute!

He always goes on about digital stamping and digital paper and how I should use it more often. Last year for my birthday I said I wanted Bacon and Eggs for my birthday and that's exactly what I got... he made me a Bacon and Eggs SVG, along with a card he made using digital paper and font. There's a link so you can download my Bacon and Eggs SVG on my post from last year.

So of course this years card was you guessed it... made using digital images and my printer.

heeeheeeeheee this is to cute!
He even used a program to make his actual hand writing into font to use and print off the computer.

This was on the back of the card and I cashed it in right away and even managed to get two foot rubs :)

Maybe one of these years I will find some time to play with digital stamps and paper.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Birthday Kathy (The Peachy Queen)

Peachy Keen Challenge #47 : Sketch Challenge :  Happy Birthday to Kathy!

This week is very special over at Peachy Keen as it's the Peachy Queen's BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Peachy Keen is one of my favorite stamp companies and if it wasn't for Kathy, they wouldn't exist. I'm always so happy to get my package in the mail when I order from Peachy Keen. I know that I'm getting a high quality stamp and will get a clean, crisp image. I LOVE my Peachy Keen stamps!!!

They are turning this week's sketch challenge into a Happy Birthday Kathy Link Party!!

Here is the sketch to follow:

You can link your birthday card for Kathy and wish her a Happy Birthday and a big Thank you for all her hard work over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.

Here is  the card that I made for Kathy.

I used Recollections cardstock and the Bright and Jolly paper pack for the base and layers of the card.
I embossed the PKS-11 Igloo in Recollections Glacier Embossing powder and colored it in with a couple of Copics.

I stamped and cut out the fishing bobbers in two different sizes and used the larger ones for the buttons in the sketch.

I embossed the sentiment from the Igloo stamp set as well but left out the word holiday and replace it with Brrrthday from the Pink By Design Snowflakes stamp set. I cut out the sentiment using a Spellbinders Grommet Tag and used some brads to attach it to the card.

Happy Birthday Kathy I hope you have a great week long link party!

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone.

I just got home last week from a well deserved holiday and straight back to work I went. I didn't want to leave the sun behind and head back to the real world but I had to.

Well this week was my friend's birthday and every year we go camping to celebrate the occasion. Camp fire, food, drinks, stars and of course s'mores.

I bought her a balloon and whipped up this simple birthday card for her.

I used  Recollections cardstock and my Indentz Vine 1 folder to emboss the background, then stamped one of the butterflies from Inkadinkado Butterflies stamp set in StazOn Teal Blue ink. I decided to cut out the butterfly with the Spellbinders Peony Die set and added some popdots.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Sibling Love stamp set, cut out with the Spellbinders Grommet Tags and attached using Divine Twine in Aqua.

The inside sentiment comes from Studio G, I think.

So here are some Butterfly Birthday Wishes!!!!

To another great year of new adventures and treasured memories.

Bacon and Egg Birthday!!!!

Hello all! Today I have a very special card to show you. This fabulous (5x7) card was made by my better half for my birthday this past week....

He asked me what I wanted for my Birthday and I said, "I want YOU to make me Bacon and Eggs!!!!"

I do most of the cooking but he makes the best Bacon and eggs ever... He always says, "timing is everything" and he is right. Yum yum!

So before I received my bacon and eggs, he gave me this great card.... I just love it.

The yellow ribbon and 4 black brads fit right in.

Hey wait a minute those aren't real bacon and eggs!!
I laughed so hard I was crying.

To make this card, he made me a Bacon and Eggs SVG File and also an MTC File.

For awhile now he has been trying to talk me in to trying to use digital images and paper patterns so he took the opportunity to show me just how good they can turn out. The options for color and design really are endless.

For this card he used a couple different programs, our HP printer and Make the Cut.

For the patterned paper, Gimp, what a great piece of free software.

To make the SVG file, Inkscape (this program is very similar to Adobe Illustrator) then import to Make the Cut to cut it out.

Didn't he do such a great job? I'm so impressed!

Thank you Babe for the best bacon and eggs ever!!

XOXOXO

Here's the SVG he made...

I've added links to the (free!) files so you can make your own set of bacon and eggs... without the calories... enjoy.!

Birthday Wishes ... for me!!

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share with you the Birthday card my Mother made for me.

My birthday is in a couple of days but my Mother came down this past week for an early visit. We had such a great time together, we attended two scrapbooking garage sales and had a blast.

She ran a piece of Lilac cardstock with the Swiss Dots folder through her Cuttlebug for the background.

She then stamped the main image on white cardstock and used her Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and Classic Oval Large along with some popdots and attached it to the card.

Thanks Mom you're the best and what a great job you did on my card.... truly made with love.

Sweet Birthday Wishes !!!!

Today I wanted to share with you a birthday card I made for one of the ladies that I work with.

Yesterday was her birthday and we always celebrate by giving each other a card and of course .......... any excuse to eat cake.

I started by running a piece of teal cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the Seeing Spots folder and attached it to the pink card base. I just love this pink and teal cardstock from Recollections.

The main image is a stamp from Great Impressions Stamps called Dessert Piled High.... yummmmm

I colored the image in with my Copics and a few Bic Markers. For an extra little bling I used Glossy Accents for the cherry on top, as well as some Stickles in Crystal.

I put two thin layers behind the main image and then used some popdots for dimension but only for the top half.

"Sweet birthday wishes" comes from the Say It Sweet stamp set from Pink By Design. I have a sweet tooth and this stamp set has a lot of great sentiments for anyone who does.

I used the Cuttlebug and the Spellbinders Grommet Tag Die set to cut out and then stamp the sentiment on. I then attached it with some Flower Brads from Recollections that I picked up from Michaels.

I think that everyone should take this advice on their birthday too. I know I do...heeeheee

I used two different stamp sets for the inside of the card. I used the Pink by Design Simply Everything stamp set for the "It's Your Birthday !" and the Inkadinkado Eat Cupcakes set.

I will be posting some more birthday cards soon... May is such a busy birthday month.

I will also be LINKING UP to Pink Cricut this week.

Link Up Tuesday gives you the chance to link a project that you've been working on and see what everyone has been up to in the past week.

You should stop by and take a look, get some inspiration and there's even a chance to win a Memory Box Family Ties Die.

Thanks to Sarah Hamer (from Pink Cricut) for the chance to win such a great prize.

Birthday Wishes

Today I want to share with you a card I made for my Father for his upcoming birthday.

When I was younger, my father and I used to go fishing. I always loved getting my hands in the minnow bucket, I would open it up and stare at all the little minnows swimming around. I have lots of great memories of fishing.

I used grey Recollections Cardstock for the base, added a layer of lime green paper, topped with a blue layer. The blue piece of cardstock is from Momenta Great Outdoors Paper pad and is embossed with fish.

The Sentiment comes from the Pink By Design Simply Everything Stamp set.

The main image of this card is the Wide Mouth Bass by Inkadinkado. I colored the fish in with my Copics and went over the fins with a Sakura Stardust Clear Gelly Roll pen.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Weathered Wood for the water and to ink around the edges. Then used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large to cut out the image and green layer.

The inside sentiment comes from the Pink By Design  Spring Has Sprung Stamp set.

The little fish is also from the PBD Simply Everything Stamp set.... isn't he cute.

So here's Fishing my Father a Happy Birthday.

A little bird told me.....

Well time to get back at it.... I have been sick with an ear infection that just wouldn't go away.
Now it is gone and I can enjoy life again... yay

So I started the other day with a birthday card for the LPN on the unit I work.

She is a wonderful, thoughtful lady that I love to work with. Since it was her special day we decided to celebrate with balloons, flowers, cake and of course a  card.

I stamped one of the birdhouses from my JustRite Birdhouses stamp set and colored it using my Copics. I cut out and embossed the image using my Spellbinders Standard Circle Large Dies. Then ran the bottom half of the teal paper through the Cuttlebug with the Floral Fantasy folder.

Both sentiments come from the Simply Everything stamp set from Pink By Design. This is a great versatile stamp set to own, it simply has a bit of everything...lol

The cardstock is Recollections Cool Water .... I love the colors in this paper pack, a mixture of purples and teals. I added a few large and mini flower brads from Recollections that I picked up on sale at Michaels.

Since the card is a 5 1/2" square I realized that I needed to make an envelope to fit.

I used my Martha Stewart Score Board and Momenta Chloe's Garden pyramid paper pack that I got at Walmart to make this envelope. I just love the great assortment of beautiful double sided cardstock in Chloe's Garden.... great for many uses.

Have a great day and stay crafty.

¡feliz cumpleaños!

Here is a birthday card that I recently made for a woman that I work with.

She speaks Spanish so I thought that it would be nice to make the main sentiment in Spanish. "¡feliz cumpleaños!" (Happy Birthday)

I used my printer to make the sentiment and used my Spellbinders Die to cut the ovals. Then took some white cardstock and put it through the Cuttlebug with the Traffic Jam folder. Finally added some ribbon and used my Fiskars Halloween stamp set for the Calavera (skull).

The pictures aren't very good but that's because I used the camera on my phone. Sorry!

Kick up your heels! ....60 th Birthday Card

This is a fun card that my mother made for her sister's birthday . She turned 60 in December but I just wanted to share this great card with you all.

The yellow base of the card was a precut 12" piece from the dollar store. She used Recollections shimmer cardstock for top and shoes and glitter paper for the skirt.

The Princess (aka my Auntie) is from Rock Princess,
I would have to say that this is my mother's favourite Cricut cartridge. The armchair is from Love You a Latte Cricut Lite cartridge.... I love the armchair and the way she put it through the Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder.

The "Kick up your heels! " sentiment is from the Pink by Design Rock On stamp set . I like the little details that she added like her painted fingernails and the flower bling for a braclet.

Great job Mom !
