Noah's Ark Banner

Hello everyone!

Today I'm posting the banner and a few other little projects that I made for my friend's Baby shower. The theme was Noah's Ark as she had twin boys! They are so super cute and bring lots of love and joy to everyone.

For the banner I opened up my Silhouette DE Software and purchased a few files from the Silhouette online store. I started by cutting the Top Note Nested Shapes in blue on my 12 x 24 mat for the main banner pieces, then cut out the inset pieces in a striped pattern paper.

Next I used the type tool, chose a font and typed out my text then made shadow layers for each letter.

I used the Noah's Ark file by Sarah Bailey and cut it out 6 times. I used  my Tim Holtz and Cuttlebug Wood grain embossing folders for all the pieces. For Noah I used the Peachy Keen In the Garden face assortment and used twine to give him a rope tie for his robe.

I bought some chip bowls and used some Silhouette Adhesive Vinyl in white to cut out their names.

My friend had her twins 3 months early (!) and so they were in hospital for some time. Only the hospital was almost 2 hrs away from where we live. So while they were in hospital Mom stayed at Jeneece Place.

Jeneece Place is a home away from home for families who travel for their child's medical care. It is owned and operated by Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. I visited my friend while she was there and what an amazing place it is for families with sick children.

So at her baby shower we had a donation jar (bottle) for Jeneece Place.

Jeneece Place was the dream of this brave young girl. May she rest in peace
Now I couldn't forget the proud Daddy of the twins. Using the 3D Tool Box from Samantha Walker I cut out this Daddy's Diaper Toolkit, and filled it with all the necessary items he will need to lend a hand.

Tomorrow I will post the favors that I made using Jaded Blossom stamps and the print and cut feature on my Cameo.

MEOW

Just wanted to share a quick card that I made for a friend's birthday over the weekend. She loves cats so these chipboard cats from Basic Grey worked purrrfectly.

I made my patterned paper using the Peachy Keen Cat Background stamp embossed in silver.

For the inside I used a small strip of matching paper and  my sentiment is from Pink By Design.

Hope everyone has a cat-tastic week!

Gotta Have Some Java

If you're like me, you love coffee.... I'm sipping on a cup of coffee while I write this post :)

Right now I'm in Christmas candy favor mode and since I love coffee and chocolate I thought I would make a coffee Christmas favor for my mini-series. So I decided to fill some Jaded Blossom 1x8 bags with chocolate covered coffee beans. Yummmmm :)

I used the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Java Great Day cutting file and cut out this super cute coffee pot.

I added some googly eyes to make his eyes bulge out from all the caffeine... lol. The sentiment comes from Art Impressions which I embossed in black and tied on with some twine.

Non Traditional Holiday Colors Challenge

Hello everyone,  the challenge this week at Pink By Design is to make a project using Non Traditional Holiday Colors. Forget about red and green try purple, orange and yellow, it's fun to think out of the box.

So here is the card that I made for this challenge.

I started the card by rounding all the corners with my corner rounder then ran the Crafts Too Love Hearts folder through my Cuttlebug for the embossed background.

Using my Spellbinders Heart Circles die I cut out some Pink cardstock from Recollections and then used my Standard Circle die to cut out the main image for my card and layered them together.

The main image is the Peachy Keen Snow Much Love stamp, which I colored in with Copics and used some Liquid Pearls in orange for her nose.

The sentiment is from Penny Black Cold Nose Warm Heart stamp set and is stamped in Memento Rose Bud ink.

For the inside of the card I used the Pink By Design Snowflakes stamp set... It fit in so perfect. I Love this stamp set even though it belongs to my mother... I think that I might hold it hostage a little longer...heeheee.

You should head on over to the Pink By Design Blog and check out all the amazing inspiration and enter the challenge yourself.

Only 11 more days til Christmas!

Swinging By To Say Hi!!!

Here is a fun little card that I made the other day for the Fun Friday Anything Goes Challenge over at Little Scrap Pieces.

It's an Easel card, I love making these types of cards, they are so much fun to display.

I  really like this fun banana paper  made by Reminisce called Goin' Bananas and Crazy Monkey Stripe from the Monkey Business collection.

I used the Create A Critter cartridge, Bazzill paper and some googly eyes to make this cute little monkey. I cut out the vines and ran them through my Cuttlebug with the Indentz Vine 1 folder then placed one on top and one underneath him to make him swing.

Both the sentiments come from Pink By Design's Jungle Fever stamp set, which I embossed in black. I used my Spellbinders Grommet Tag die to cut out the front sentiment and attached it using brads.

Isn't the banana so cute? I used The Cornies Assortment from Peachy Keen for his cute little face.... heeeheee.

Head on over and check out all the great entries for the Fun Friday Anything Goes Challenge... you still have time to enter yourself.

WORD!

It's another challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.

PKC Challenge 40 :: Just Cards :: Word Up

Here's what ya gotta do to play along with their challenge:
Create a card where the focus of the creation is the sentiment. You can accomplish this with clean and simple designs or let your creativity go wild with patterns and color as long as the sentiment shines through as the main focus.

So... here is the card that I made for PKC 40:

I made an easel card (love making these) and used some pattern paper that I had in my stash.

The sentiment comes from Stampendous and is  embossed with Martha Stewart Cerulean Blue embossing powder.

The snowflakes are from a EK Success Snowflake Edger Punch and I attached them using Glossy Accents.

The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design's My Favorite Kind stamp set.

Thanks for stopping! Make sure to head on over to The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see all the great entries and then again on Friday for the new challenge.

Happy Haunting! PKS Blog Challenge #37

There's a fun Sketch challenge going on over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.

Create a card or layout using the provided sketch! They will be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and the runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!

So here is my card for Challenge #37 - A Sketch.

I started by embossing the purple cardstock with the Cuttlebug and the Haunted Damask folder, then used some Ornate Green Gate paper in the Spooky and Kooky pack by Bazzill.

Using the Spellbinders Standard Circles Dies I cut several circles in different colors.

I used the Recollections Haunted House stamp set, Martha Stewart's Elegant Witch stamp set for the bats and the Peachy Keen Happy Haunting Ghosts stamp set for the ghost and the sentiment, which are all embossed in black.

I used the Peachy Keen Happy Haunting Ghosts stamp set for the inside of the card as well.

Here I layered all the circles together and embossed BOO! onto the smallest circle. I stamped, embossed and cut out another cute little ghost from the set and added him to the inside.

I just love these little ghosts, they are so cute! I actually won the stamp set over on the Peachy Keen Connection a few weeks back  and was so excited to get them in the mail and use them.

Head on over to both the PK Connection and the PKS Challenge Blog and check out all the fun and amazing stuff going on.

I used 2 colors of plain cardstock and Forever in Time's Hocus Pocus glitter paper for the font and left inside panels.

For the inside of the card I used the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder for the background and the Scalloped oval again for the sentiment.

I choose to do the first one, hosted by Michelle Criswell.

Michelle's Challenge: Use "3 of Something" on your card or project.

The Tombstone and sentiment are from the Peachy Keen Frankly stamp set. I used the masking technique in order to get 3 layered tombstones.

The paper is from K and Company Halloween 12x12 paper pack and embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder.

A couple of popdots for the tops of the tombstones and the sentiment which I used a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Die to cut out.

For the inside I used the tooth and Happy Halloween sentiment from the Frankly set as well. I used Memento Grape Jelly Ink with clear embossing powder and black embossing powder for the teeth.

I will also be entering this over at CARDZ TV for their Design Team Challenge #14 - "Happy Holidays ~ Pick One!"

A Dino-Mite Birthday!

Yesterday I went to a Surprise Birthday party for my friend's daughter, she turned the big 10. We all huddled by the door with balloons in our hands, waiting for her to open the door and throw them at her.. SURPRISE!!

She had this huge smile on her face and her eyes wide, in shock walking around in a slight daze.

Good food, friends, family and of course birthday cake = a Dino-Mite birthday party.

She loves dinosaurs so I made this Triceratops card with the Dinosaur Tracks Cricut cartridge.

I made this card the same way as the Happy Piggy Party card, by cutting 2 shadow layers and adhering them together, then cutting all the remaining layers.

I ran some of the layers through my Cuttlebug with the Mesh embossing folder to give him scaly skin. (I forgot to emboss the brown legs.. Oops!)

For the inside of the card I used the first layer and then cut part of the top off so it would fit inside. I used the Dinosaur Party stamp set by Pink Cat Studio for the inside sentiment with some Cottage Ivy Memento Ink.

It was a Dino-Mite birthday filled with lots of love, fun and excitement for a very surprised 10 yr old!
