Beetle to the Rescue!

This week on one of my adventures to Costco, I did something that was really silly. I was having rather a bad day and then... I locked my keys in the car along with my purse and cell phone.

What a disaster... I can't believe that I did that... really. I quickly ran around the car trying all the doors even the trunk but no luck, locked nice and tight. A little bit of panic set in and then I thought  I'd go to the tire center, maybe someone there can help me. No one to be found, I can hear them in the back but still no one comes out, now what???

I start walking back to my car when a yellow VW Beetle drives into the same aisle as me only 2 spots over... I wonder if they can help? So I made my way over and asked if they happen to have the number to the VW line (which is in the owners manual/which is in the locked car). Unfortunately they didn't have the book in the car but they were members of BCAA.

Next thing I knew she was on the phone, calling them to help open my car. I can't believe that they did that for me, I was so shocked and so thankful for their kindness. I wanted to repay them but they said it was fine and that they were glad they could help. It's nice to know that there are still people out there that would help someone if they needed it and ask nothing in return.

I wanted to make them a Thank you card, so after I got into my car I wrote a quick note on a napkin, gave her my blog address and stuck it under the windshield blade. Hope they get a chance to see it, because I truly appreciate their generosity that day.

I made a different type of card this time, I made a twisted easel card.

I stamped my Imaginisce Vroom stamp in Memento Dandelion ink and then colored in with a yellow Copic.  I then stamped Thank you from the Pink By Design Here Comes the Bride stamp set. I added some Lemon Divine Twine and used the Beep Beep Cuttlebug folder for the tire tracks.

I used my Spellbinder's Ovals and Scalloped Ovals and embossed the front sentiment. It is from the My Favorite Kind stamp set by Pink By Design. The inside sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up.

So if you read this - here's a BIG THANK YOU from me to you!

I will also be linking this to the Sarah Hamer's Link Up Tuesday. Stop by and check out what everyone has been up to.

  2. Thank you! This was the first time for me making a twisted easel, I was happy with the way it turned out. I do like making regular easel cards, they are quick and easy to make and are a different way to display your art.
